About ELHS Theatre

The Performing Arts Academy at East Lake High School is an Award Winning Program recognized year after year for its excellence. 

Our season encompasses:

• Two Main Stage Productions
  • Fall Play
  • Spring Musical
• Student Lead One Acts
• Lip Sync Show
• Improv Show

ELHS Theatre offers a comprehensive theatre education.

Most students who participate in the program their freshman year continue to participate throughout all four years of High School.

Students are exposed to nearly every aspect of the theatre, from downstage to backstage, including:

The arts are imperative to learning and development. The students learn by doing. For each production, time is dedicated after school and on Saturdays, from the time of casting through the

 performance(s). It’s a major commitment for everyone involved!

​Each year, in conjunction with upcoming shows, efforts are made to offer workshops and lectures, with topics ranging from the art of clowning to tap dancing.

The Performing Arts Academy at East Lake High School opened beginning in the fall of the 2013-2014 school year. The goal of the Academy is to provided a top-notch education in concentrated art fields and core academics to 9th-12th-grade students.

Our theater can hold almost 780 people. Catwalks come down from the ceiling so students can walk above the stage and control the lighting.

THEATRE BOOSTERS

As a school with thriving art departments, our school uses boosters clubs in the same way traditional schools would use the PTA. We create a smaller, close-knit environment where faculty and parents meet to support each other. It takes a village to pull off our wonderful productions and we are grateful for the efforts of many volunteers and parents. Click here to read our By-Laws.
